The Lagos State Government has placed a ban on the operations of commercial motorcyclists, popularly called Okada and tricycles, called “Keke Marwa” on restricted routes and bridges.

This is in line with the 2012 state Traffic Law on activities of commercial motorcycles.
Someof the affected local government include the state capital, Ikeja, Lagos Mainland, Lagos Island, Apapa, Surulere, Eti Osa among others.

The ban according to the government will come into effect on February 1.
The restriction and enforcement also affect the newly introduced “Opay ride, Gokada ride” and other similar commercial motorcycles.
