A former governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State, Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwo, has said that the present administration led by
Muhammadu Buhari, inherited Nigeria in coma, resulting in serial injections over the last two years.
He alleged that the present security challenges in Nigeria were perpetuated by those whose corrupt practices were exposed by the APC-led government.
Onunkwo, who spoke on the sidelines of a round-table meeting with stakeholders organised by the Centre for Strategic Leadership and Youth Orientation (CENSTLEYO), at Nnewi in Anambra State, said that the APC government have all it takes to take the country to the highest level.
He enjoined the Igbo to support the philosophy of APC, noting that it was only the party that would guarantee Igbo presidency, come 2023.
“We have had insecurity challenges for the past 10 to 15 years, we forget in a hurry and majority is blaming the president for the 16 years of colossal loss under the People’s Democratic Party.
Buhari inherited Nigeria in coma and sick. He has been giving us injection for the past three years which brought about a lot of pain, reformations and policies.
“I am not saying that the president is a saint because he has touched the untouchable, they will show they have power that is why they don’t want him to be president in 2019.
“Some were in military, I don’t want to mention names but when you see those people that don’t want him to come back, you will know them. If he is the one sponsoring the current killings, he won’t have the courage to go to USA because the vampires he is fighting would have exposed them” he said.
He recalled that the president had promised to release five names of people purported to be richer that the country, calling on the state government to go back to drawing board and re-strategise.
Nigeria is about to be discharged from the hospital. For the first time, the president brought back the looted funds and the federal roads are being worked. The people around him may be corrupt, but he is not. Allow him to continue because APC is the only party that will give Igbo presidency in 2023 and Buhari is the only man to hand over after his reign”, he stated.
In another development, the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Appropriations, House of Representatives, Hon. Chris Emeka Azubuogu, condemned the incessant killings in the country, saying that it was unacceptable that human lives would be wasted.
Azubuogu said that the house would look into the serial killings to establish immediate and remote causes of the incident, assuring that any findings would be addressed as a nation.
“If there are things that legislatures, executives, community leaders or state governors will have to do, we will do that because it’s a multifaceted challenge that faces us as a nation. We have to make sure we put everything we have to solve and eliminate it because human life is sacrosanct”, he remarked
