Ligue 2 outfit Clermont have named Helena Costa as the club's new coach ahead of the 2014-15 campaign - making her the first such female appointment in professional football in France.

The 36-year-old Portuguese will replace Regis Brouard at the helm this summer having previously worked with Benfica, Celtic and the Iran women's national team.

"Clermont Foot 63 has chosen its new coach for next season in the person of Helena Costa," a statement on the club's official website reads.

"Costa previously worked at Benfica, Ovidelas and with the women national teams of Qatar and Iran, while also working with Celtic.

"This appointment is the start of a new era for Clermont, with 17 players under contract who will be joined by a number of youngsters from within the club."

A graduate in sports science, Costa was appointed as the Iran team boss in 2012 following two years at the forefront of women's football in Qatar.

The Alhandra-born coach also spent the early part of her career with the Benfica youth sides and lifted a regional league title with men's side Sociedade Recreativa e Desportiva Cheleirense.

Music Star, Davido has revealed that his latest hit track, Aye was inspired by God and not by one Adeola Bamisile, daughter of ex-Ekiti State Chief Judge, as initially reported.

Chatting with R! the "AYE" crooner said "A lot of things have been going on the social media, especially my relationship with one girl or the other, which I don't believe is the best thing to be discussing right now but for the case of this session, I want to
categorically state that I am not in any relationship with any girl that you might have read about.

In fact, this is coming as news to me because I don't even know something like that has been said about me". Speaking on the girl he featured in Aye, Davido said "the truth is that I wanted to feature the winner of the most beautiful girl in Nigeria beauty pageant in the video, but her manager said she would not be available for the shoot. So, I decided to use my make-up artist, who eventually did well in the video.

I am neither dating her nor other girls as I speak with you. Disregard any rumour linking me with any girl", he said. Davido insisted that his career needs all the concentration it could give it right now, saying "thinking about any woman now will be a distraction.

"I want to concentrate on my career for now. I know when the right time to talk about women or think about having a serious affair, God will lead me through".

Unconfirmed reports had said that Davido is having a secret affair with Miss Bamisile and that the sizzling romance may have inspired Davido to release the song to show how much he loves the lady who is said to be currently studying in the United Kingdom.

Hmmm, well, na him get him mouth. Everybody dey talk say na God give them inspiration, even those wey dey sing like dead men. Make Davido talk true, na one babe wey him don toast wey no gree for am.

Franklin Njoku, pictured above, a Senior School Certificate Examination candidate who rented a room in a house belonging to one Mr Eze, is currently in police custody after he lured his landlord's four-year-old daughter into the bush, defiled the little girl,  murdered her then hanged her on a dwarf palm tree near their house.

Nigerian Tribune reports that Franklin Njoku, aged 18 years from Ohekelem in Ngorokpala Local Government Area of the state was in Uvuru community to sit for the ongoing West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) at Aboh Mbaise Secondary School, Uvuru.

Since Njoku's village is quite a distance from Uvuru, his parents decided to rent a room to reduce the
stress of having to commute between the two communities on a daily basis. Njoku was able to secure accommodation in Eze's compound. The Ezes received Njoku with open hands as one of their tenants. He became close to all members of the family, including the late 4 year old Gloria.

However, it was gathered that Njoku began to show special interest in little Gloria and was drawing her close to him with small gifts. The parents did not see anything out of the ordinary in this, thinking that it was just his way of appreciating the hand of fellowship extended to him by the family.

Things, however, got out of hand when one day, Njoku allegedly enticed Gloria with sweets and lured her into a nearby bush where he allegedly had carnal knowledge of the girl after which he strangled her to death.

To cover his tracks, Njoku was said to have tied a rope round the neck of the little girl and subsequently hanged the lifeless body of Gloria on a dwarf palm tree to give the impression that his victim committed suicide. However, the lid blew open on his act as a neighbour was said to have seen him while trying to hang the body of the girl on the palm tree.

The neighbour raised the alarm and the suspect was quickly rounded up by some youths in the community. He would have been lynched by the angry youth if not for the timely intervention of the victim's family and some other prominent citizens in the area who pleaded with them to exercise restraint. He was subsequently handed over to the police.

Parading the suspect at the police headquarters in Owerri, last week, the state commissioner of police, Alhaji Abdulmajid Ali, said the suspect lured the victim into the bush, defiled her and subsequently killed her.

When questioned by newsmen, the suspect admitted to committing the crime saying he was pushed into doing it by Satan. He pleaded for leniency. However, the commissioner, while fielding questions from reporters, said that the suspect would be charged to court as soon as the police concluded their investigation into the matter.
